Utah Olympic Park

Today we took a little trip to Park City, always a fun place to visit.  It was my first time visiting the Utah Olympic Park.  We didn't stay long but it was very cool.  In the summer the athletes practice their jumps on slide jumps into a pool!  Chiquita loved it and really wanted to go swimming.

Fun fact: Just as the skier comes down the jump the pool starts to bubble.  They do this to break the surface tension of the water so the skiers have a soft landing.  If they hit "flat" water they could get really hurt.  This could be a good chance for a science lesson for older kids.

There's a museum & tour as well a show Saturdays at 4 pm, but we didn't stay that long.  Admission to the park is free and so is the gorgeous view!  For older kids they have tons of other activities - skating classes (3+), bobsled ride, zipline, and more.  We'll definitely come back.
