I could resist reposting this from Multilingual Mama. When I was in Guatemala we used to have kids pretend to speak English to us all the time. Took us forever to figure out what they were doing. This guy really sounds like he's speaking English though. Reminds me of my dad pretending to speak Spanish.

You know that music and much of entertainment is like this, anyways, regardless of the language-- lots of colloquialisms and slang, regional accents, and terrible pronunciation. Although I like to think my Spanish comprehension has gotten better, I still have an easier time understanding spoken Spanish than sung Spanish (probably for the reasons I just stated).
