Super file folder

I made my first file folder, Garden of Eden, a while ago with mixed success.  Chiquita liked ripping everything off and actually did pretty well at putting everything back in it's place.  I made a mistake though of trying to superglue on Velcro.  That glue is not so super on laminate, it kept ripping off.  Finally I bought self sticking Velcro circles and they have stayed on great.  I really like Velcro as an option rather than mounting putty or something like that because it's more permanent and helps guide her a little.

While Chiquita liked the file folder game it didn't keep her attention for long (certainly didn't last for all of church, part of my goal) and it was relatively limited in it's skill building.  So now I'm putting together a SUPER file folder game where she can play lots of games in one folder and I've added some Spanish language for that some day when she starts reading.

On the front I created a matching game with clip art of barnyard animals with their names in Spanish. I would add the file here but I can't figure out how to link pdfs (If you can teach me that would be great).  It would be really easy to make your own.  Then I cut the animals in half, being careful to cut the words in between syllables (again with some future day in mind) and glued the front halves on the top part of the folder and glue a smaller envelope on the bottom half to put the back halves.  After laminating I will add Velcro so she can match the animal halves.  I have to wait until Monday to take it to get laminated but I am excited so I'm posting now :)

In the middle I downloaded this fun face game from the LDS Humanitarian site.  I put the face on one side and labeled it "cara" and then put the eyes in one envelope and the mouths in a separate envelope and labeled them "ojos" and "boca".  The face with have two Velcros for a "Mr. Potato Head" style game.  It will give us a good opportunity to talk about emotions as well as face parts.

For the back side I printed off this fun color matching folder game with seals.  I only used five of the seals so that I could fit them and the envelope for the matching beach balls on the back.  Again I added the names of the colors in Spanish on each seal.

Hopefully this will keep Chiquita entertained for longer periods of time without me having to take a giant bag of toys.  Please comment with your favorite folder games or other easily portable busy games for your tots.
