First Dot Marker Experience - Lunar New Year

Chiquita and I had fun with a few worksheets from Royal Baloo's Chinese New Year's Tot Pack.  She wasn't super excited about the pre-writing exercises but was willing to do it.  It turned out to be worth her time so that she could do a dot marker exercise for the first time!

I'd bought a red dot marker a month or so ago, not knowing when we'd use it.  Honestly I thought they were just for bingo parlors until I started reading mommy blogs.  It must have been serendipity that I got red since it is the color of the Lunar New Year.  She loved it!  I tried to focus her on covering the letter d's (perfect since we'll be picking up with letter D after V-day) but she was having so much fun that the whole page was soon covered in red!
