Paper Plate Crab Craft

We did a quick and easy craft this morning while waiting for visitors to show up.  I whipped up some easy corn starch finger paint (same recipe we used with our recycled paper craft) in red and orange. 

Here's a tip I've learned with corn starch paint:
It dries much more pastel colored then the paint looks like, so add lots of food coloring. 

I let Chiquita paint a paper plate.  I've seen lots of creative ways to paint but she prefers a plain old paint brush. 

We ate breakfast while it dried.  Then as she played I cut and assembled her crab!  Happy Chiquita, happy mommy.
